Vintage Peruvian Retablo Diorama. Folk Art Wood Folding Tube. Handmade collectible featuring wood, leather, ceramic, and yarn elements, including a Nativity scene and guitar. Wooden box with 8 different scenes. Opens to show handcrafted, hand-dyed figures, animals, and detailed scenes. The front is decorated with a pink and purple stenciled design. It closes perfectly. A blue and white piece of yarn is attached to the back leather hinge for hanging. Each end is dyed in hot pink, with a "Made in Peru" label on the bottom. Excellent condition. Very colorful from every angle, with tremendous detail in each section. Has two doors with leather hinges. Figures are made with a mixture of gypsum and cooked potato and hand-painted.
