Rare Pentik ceramic art bird entitled “Riekko” (willow grouse), designed by Swedish sculptor Henrik Allert (born 1937) for Pentik ceramics and home décor of Finland in the 1970s. The bird measures 9” x 6” x 6” and bears the marks “PENTIK HENRIK ALLERT FINLAND” in blue on the base. The piece has an overall snowy white glaze with grey and blue undertones and black details. The bird has some slight crazing of the glaze around the base of the neck. Please see photos.
