Antique Japanese Raised Relief Satsuma Kinkozan Porcelain Vase/Lamp Base 13”. The rectangular mark on the bottom, partly worn and chipped away, looks like it might be 錦光山 Kinkozan, a maker of Satsuma ware. The hole was opened later, probably to accommodate a lamp. Kinkozan was active roughly 1875-1925. Hand painted with intricate raised relief designs. Dating back to the late 19th century or early 20th century. A beautiful example of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, a valuable piece for collectors.
