This beauty is from the early 1900's. The profile image of the woman looks to be from the teens or 20's. It was probably hand made and carved. The profile has some hand carving. I don't know how they got the different colors in the design of the wood as it does not look painted. It has the same design on the underside of the lid. It measures 15" long at the widest point X 8" D X 4" H. Carved notches along the top edges and bottom with black coloring. It shows wear. The hinges have been moved several times and apparently reversed at some point as there are small holes in the front top edge of the bottom. The lid has numerous small holes from the hinge nails. The hinges need repair. One is completely loose. Small screws would work better I think. The top is scratched and faded compared to the underside. I think it could easily be flipped when the hinges are repaired. I ship same or next business day.
