Rare antique 1900s Austrian/German hand-carved, painted wood sleigh/sled, showcasing exquisite folk art. This unique sleigh is decorated with detailed artistry. Condition: Nice shabby chic with age-appropriate wear, paint loss, and some cracks. There are a few cracks in the bottom wooden rails but these are held in place by surrounding iron rails, so it is *very* sturdy and well built. Normal wear on the painted finishes gives it a shabby chic look. Estimated to be at least 120 years old. The back features a German Dutch design. The hand-carved maiden figure at the front, flanked by two dogs, adds to its charm. Approx. 25 pounds unpackaged. A true collector's item.
